Prodock, incubator in Amsterdam port area opened

Where start-ups and scale-ups can really test their products and services
Prodock has been officially opened, giving Amsterdam a new location for innovative start-ups and scale-ups. A unique concept, as Prodock offers room for innovative, fast-growing businesses to test their products and services in actual practice in a large warehouse with ample external space. It is aimed at businesses that have outgrown the laboratory phase and wish to scale up.
With Prodock, Port of Amsterdam aims to provide a bridge between innovation and ambitions. Port of Amsterdam focuses mainly on businesses in the four areas in which it seeks to excel: energy transition, biobased & circular economy, logistics innovation and operational excellence. It is offering the tenants of Prodock access to its network, knowledge and resources to support those businesses.
Prodock is a physical location of 4,000 m2 where businesses can pursue testing and development in an industrial environment for short or extended periods. It is a plug & play concept. Prodock also offers a community with opportunities for cross-pollination and a platform providing broad exposure to potential customers in the port area. Prodock is an incubator where businesses can ramp up from a small-scale test set-up to a commercial level and where support is available from the Port of Amsterdam to gain access to financing, markets and distribution networks.
Dertje Meijer, CEO of Port of Amsterdam: ‘Our ambition as a port is to become faster, cleaner and smarter. The businesses that establish themselves in Prodock will contribute to this. The port has always been a place where cargo flows, markets, people and ideas come together. By providing the facilities for testing designs, we offer businesses a readily accessible and valuable option for collaboration and innovation. I am therefore particularly pleased that we are making a valuable contribution with Prodock to the port, the city and the region.’
Prodock is located at Moezelhavenweg 9 and already has two first tenants: 30Mhz, a start up in sensortechnology and 3DFix, an expert in industrial use of 3D printing techniques. More information: http://www.prodock.nl/
